Today we're going to be talking about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. For those that are not fully aware, PTSD is a mental health condition that's triggered by a experiencing or witnessing a terrifying/traumatic event such as war, assault, rape, or physical or emotional abuse.
Symptoms of PTSD are usually grouped into four categories: Intrusive Memories, Avoidance, Negative changes in thinking and Mood, and Changes in Physical and Emotional Reactions. These four categories have a wide range of manifesting from having regular and vivid flashbacks of the event, to avoiding people, places, or environments that remind a person of the traumatic event, or even the development of depression or feelings of emotional instability.
