85 - I go over some of the UFC MMA fights coming up in the first part of 2020.
First of all on January 18, we have UFC 246, in Vegas
On the card we have Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone headlining at 170 pounds. Who will this be an advantage for?
Also on the card we have Anthony Pettis making his lightweight return against the dangerous Carlos Diego Ferreira. Of course we haven't seen Pettis since the Nate Diaz fight at welterweight. Ferreira looks like a dangerous fight, so we will see.
One week after that we have a fight night in Raleigh NC, featuring Junior Dos Santos and Curtis Blaydes on the top of the card.
We'll also see Mike Chiesa in his 3rd welterweight fight going against another former lightweight in Rafeal Dos Anjos, and it'll be interesting how that one will play out.
On February 8 we have Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight strap against Domonic Reyes at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. We last saw Jon narrowly beat Thiago Santos, and Dominic put Chris Weidman's Light Heavyweight title aspirations on hold with a knockout in his lw debut
We'll Also see Valentina defend her flyweight belt against Katlyn Chookaygeean
And Iler Latifi comes up to heavyweight to take on Derrick Lewis Let's keep in mind latifi is only 5-8, so let's see how that plays out
On February 15, we have Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowitz in what could very well be a light heavyweight title eliminator at Santa Ana Star Center in New Mexico
On February22, at the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, we have a lightweight showdown between Paul Felder and Dan Hooker.
On Leap Day, February 29 from the Chartway arena in Norfolk Virginia, we will see the fruits of Henry Cejudo's labor pay off, the flyweight decision is saved, but without Cejudo in it. Joseph Benevidez and Deivson Figueiredo will compete for the vacant flyweight belt. Another interesting matchup at welterweight will be Mickey Gall and Cowboy Alex Oliveira, which could be the biggest test of Gall's career.
UFC 248 from the T Mobile Arena already shaping up nicely. With Thug Rose out of the picture, Joanna Jedrejczyk finds herself back in title contention to go against and Weili Zhang for the strawweight title
Another amazing fight, and possible middleweight title eliminator will pit Robert Whitacker and Jared Cannonier against each other.
On March 14 in Nilson Nelson Gymnasium located in Brasília, Brazil Jonny Walker will look to restart the hype train against Nikita Krylov
On March 28, Columbus Ohio, Heavyweight Francis Ngannou returns to answer the call of Jairinho Rozenstruik in a heavyweight showdown. We also see the return of Cody Garbrandt against Rapheal Assuncao, Greg Hardy taking on Yorgan De Castro, and Khalil Roundtree's retirement fight against Sam Alvey.
And the last card announced, UFC 249, Brooklyn NY, if anyone can get me tickets let me know....
Lightweight title showdown between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Don't forget somewhere next year DC and Stipe will complete their trilogy, and Tyron Woodley will return against Leon Scott... I mean Edwards
