Jamie began her foray into youth development after being requisitioned to write an original children's musical. After years spent as a recording artist, Jamie transitioned full-time into running after school programs. She has worked for Good Shepherd Services (formerly Groundwork), Manhattan Youth, Cambridge Learning Center. South Asian Youth Action, LEAP, Broadway Bound Kids, and Kaplan at elementary, middle and high schools across New York City. Jamie has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management and Organizational Change. She also works as the Project Manager for The New School's "Management and Social Justice" conversation series. She cultivated valuable program partnerships with the Department of Youth and Community Development, The After School Corporation, the Department of Education, The United Federation of Teachers, and numerous private and public schools.
