Full show notes, transcriptions (available on request), audio and video at http://theAverageGuy.tv/hgg549 I have Edward Weniger, President, Alpha Bitcoin and local to Omaha. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of mining Bitcoin at home and on a commercial scale. We note that while commercial mining operations have higher overhead costs, they also have the potential to generate more revenue. They also discuss the energy market in the United States, noting that Texas deregulated its energy market some years ago. Prices for energy have gone up since then, but the state still offers some advantages for miners. Edward discussed the recent Ethereum hard fork and merge and expressed his opinion that the merge is a bad thing. They also talked about power consumption and how it is not profitable to mine Bitcoin at home. We finish with some discussion about a Home Gadget Geeks meetup on May during Bitcoin day in Omaha. More details to come! Thanks for listening. Join Jim Collison / @jcollison for show #549 of Home Gadget Geeks brought to you by the Average Guy Network.
