Someone that has paved an impressive career in entertainment, is a model example of growth and determination, and has one of the most charitable hearts in the universe. You might recognize her elegant and melodically commanding voice as Halo from Young Justice, General Yunan from Amphibia, and even the legendary Talia al Ghul from the DC animated universe: Zehra Fazal! Today we are going to be talking about "Mindfulness." For those who are not familiar with what Mindfulness is, it is a type of meditation in which one focuses on being intensely aware of what they're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. It is the practice of purposely bringing one's attention in the present moment without evaluation. Some of the benefits of mindfulness are reduction of stress, anxiety, decreased rumination, and strengthening of personal relationships. Mindfulness is also an amazing tool for helping to prevent burnout. Burnout is chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. Practicing mindfulness helps bring oneself into the moment to analyze how they are feeling in any given situation, allowing for immediate recognition of fatigue. For anyone working in the entertainment industry, as for anyone that runs ANY kind of small business, or anyone in any kind of professional or high stress setting, practicing mindfulness can help regulate yourself and maintain healthy habits while simultaneously achieving those career goals.
